Old Treasures

                                                      Hello Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Today I created this underwater seahorse for the Old Treasures YouTube hop challenge!

I started off with this old seahorse that a friend sent to me. I think she said she picked it up at an estate sale,

I started giving it a coat of gesso then a second coat of Fiber paste (Little Birdie Crafts brand). Just the perfect amount of texture!

now here I take shells, embellishments and some (little birdie crafts) Flowers and get them glued down with gel medium and let it dry!
Next step, I cover all shells with White Gesso, Just a light coat. I kinda let some color still peak through.

Now its Time to Color!!!! I used sprays From Little Birdie Crafts and Lindy's Stamp Gang
(Time Travel Teal) (Merci Beaucoup Mint) (T-bird Turquoise) (Kissin Kenickie Coral) (Steampunk Sepia) From little Birdie (Paprika)..
I took white ribbon and sprayed them with cordinating colors of lindy's and tied them on the "neck" Used Finnibair sugar pebbles for eyes. and lastly a dry brush of white Gesso to tie it all together!

Thanks for Stopping by!!! XOXO Nicole Palos Cristarella!

HI! Thanks for stopping by! Today I have a Big Canvas 10x20 to show you!

Starting off I took Finnabair Rust Effect Paste and layered it through a stencil until I got the color Combo to look rusted.

Next I took My Rice paper from Stamperia and fussy cut the dress form,I kept the trimmimgs from the paper. I traced the dress onto chipboard and cut that to size also, giving the dress some sturdiness.

Here You see I add the trimmings of left over rice paper with soft gel medium and trace the outline of the dress to canvas so I know my focal point!

I added stencil with Brown Archival ink and some stamping with black archival, This helps blend the rice paper into the background.

I added a few spritzes of Lindy's gang sprays in (Merci Beaucoup Mint) I add extra cardboard to the back of the dress so it sits higher up on the canvas, I'm playing around with the postion of all my bobs and bits.

After figuring out my composition I give everything a layer of Black gesso and  glue down with heavy gel medium

I take rust paste and also the turquoise paste from the Norther Lights Texture fantasy set and add it to all my embellishments.

Next I add all my finishing touches Prills in (Aqua Net) Tim Holtz (story sticks) Finnabair Vintage Melange art pebbles, and Finnabair waxes in (Vintage Gold) and (Bronze Age). Thats It! hope you like it! X0x0

Message in a bottle

I made this Bottle to enter in the Lindy's Gang Challenge I didn't have the exact colors so I improvised with what I had and tried to lighten them up with gesso LOL.
If you want to enter the Challenge this month or any month to come the link for all the info is HERE

Hi! Happy Monday to everyone! I have had this idea In my head for a while. When I woke up yesterday morning it just would not leave my mind. So I took my behind up to my local dollar tree and purchased this oil bottle for $1. I took out the spout and replaced it with a cork and on I went to start my creation!

I started off with taking some sheet music and torching it with my heat tool. I then rolled it and added a remnant rub on message from Tim Holtz (Life Quotes) then tied it with string. The bottle I used some Grainy Texture Paste from Little Birdie Crafts through a stencil. I also added Little Birdie Mixed media sand and mixed media stones in the bottle mixed in with glitter, mica flakes and small sea shells.

Next step I added some cleat Gesso around the bottle, leaving the message area clean. I added moss in brown and green, I used some resin coral and a mermaid tail, using Finnabair heavy gel to glue them on. I Used Pentart expand paste on the coral. brushing on the expand paste with a brush and heat setting it adds tons of texture to the coral!

Here I took mica powders Finnabair art stones in all sizes and soft gel and mixed it all up. Adding it all over the bottle. I added on more shells and coated them all with clear Gesso.

Now for my most favorite part! COLOR! I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays in (Shabby Turbine Teal) (Delphinium Turquoise) (Time Travel Teal) (Rusty Lantern) Moon Shadow Mist in (Treasure Island aqua) and Little birdie Color Splash in (Gold Rush) and (Grape Crush). spraying colors and misting with water helps the colors blend nicely together!

After your colors are super good and dry. I took white Gesso and dry brushed all the elements to help define them better and to give a nice pop! I added Prills in (Spruce Willis) Cosmic Shimmer Glitterbitz in (Spring Fever) and (Mermaid Purple). ANNNND DONE!

Thanks for stopping in to check it out! Link below for the Lindy's sprays used in this Creation!

Heart Of Thorns!

Today I bring you My Heart of Thorns Canvas! I really had fun making this one and it now resides on                                        my living room wall!
Oh, Did I mention I meant a real heart? LOL I love it!

I got out all my Grunge looking embellishments, and cut up a cracker box to make a smaller box to be centered in the middle of the canvas

I used Dina Wakley Media White Gesso to cover the box.

After the gesso dried I used Finnabairs White Crackle paste to add some texture to the box

Adding more gesso to all my chosen embellishments

my resin heart I just used some plain old red acrylic paint dried  it and used watered down black acrylic over top and blotted off. I just kept adding black and blotting off until I liked the outcome.

another pic of my loved heart!

Now for the canvas! I crinkled up some gold tissue paper and attached it with Mod Podge.

I took more white gesso and did a heavy dry brush on it.

Here I'm starting To add My embellishments using Heavy body gel.

Now I'm lightly adding my color I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays in Rusty Lantern Lime,
Screamin Banshee Black, Shabby Turbine Teal, and Steampunk Sepia. Also Prima Color Bloom in Glistening Waves. I sprayed my canvas down with water added my colors and blot with a baby wipe until I got what I was looking for.

Up close look of that Crackle past effect! love it

used heavy gel to add my pipes and hearts, I'm also using watered down Finnabairs rust pastes to add around the edges off some of the pieces.

I used watered down gesso to splatter white all over, This is one of my favorite techniques!
I also added Nuvo Crystal drops  and some gold texture paste with a stencil as an after thought.

And it's all done! Hope you enjoyed it! I will add links to some of the product I used down below. Until next time!
